Mahalo nui from Friends of the D.T. Fleming Arboretum [FOFA] for a successful volunteer workday at the D.T. Fleming Arboretum. With good attitude and determination, projects were completed.
‘Ohe and Naio seed were collected for reforestation of the Kula State Reserve and Poli Poli Forest; Weed patches were transformed into botanical garden presentations; Mikki Clark braved the Kamanomano stickers; Richard Nakagawa harvested two successful air layers of the very rare Mahoe.
All Projects planed were completed!
27 hours of volunteer labor saved FOFA $560 in paid labor.
Together The Native Hawaiian Plant Society and Friends of the Fleming Arboretum [FOFA] have contributed to the preservation of Hawaii’s oldest and largest native arboretum and its native species, supporting a valuable conservation resource for Hawai’i.
