FOFA participates in Arbor Day celebration. A
12-foot Haku lei, braided from Arboretum prunings,
decorated the booth. It is interesting to note that the
Merrie Monarch, Hawai`i's largest hula competition,
now gives points to performers for not using native
plants to prevent the native forests from being overharvested
for lei.
